Senior Associate
Justin Coleman joined Simms Showers LLP in 2009. He works out primarily out of the Winchester, Virginia office where he focuses on church and non-profit law, land use, complex litigation, and intellectual property matters. Mr. Coleman’s primary focus is representing churches in Mid-Atlantic area (VA-DC-MD) and non-profit corporations in the Mid-Atlantic and nationally in a variety of legal areas. He regularly advises his client on corporate, risk management, tax-exempt, liability, land use, and employment issues in resolving concerns but also to avoid future problems. He also advises his non-profit and for-profit business clients on matters of intellectual property (copyright and trademark) on both registration and maintenance concerns as well as protecting their trademark rights for and against potential infringement.
Mr. Coleman graduated from the University of Nebraska with degrees in Psychology (2002) and Criminal Justice (2005). In 2008, he received his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, MI. He and his wife, Christina, have been married since 2008 and have three beautiful daughters. In his downtime, he enjoys hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, watching Nebraska Cornhuskers football, and watching his daughters’ dance recitals.
